Day One

5:30am - Taylor comes running down the stairs, dressed in swimsuit and hat, ready for the beach. We ate a light breakfast and drove a short distance to Hapuna Beach State Park. We were there before the gate opened, so we drove some of the bike course and came back just as the beach was opening.

We enjoyed our morning doing what we normally do at any beach. The kids loved the sand and built a sand castle. Daring Dakota braved the waves and loved it. Bryce swam most of the swim course while the kids and I played. I tried swimming too, but after swimming a short distance and drinking too much salt water came back, although the visibility was pretty cool...a pretty blue ocean and a white sandy bottom beneath.

Later in the day Bryce and kids boarded a boat which took them to a submarine, which they seemed to enjoy. Afterwards we met up with Nate and Lindsey at Costco to shop for the week, then enjoyed the rest of the evening at the pool. We loved our first day and are looking forward to more ahead.
