Seven Years

We have been married seven years.  Sounds so short, but at the same time feels like it's been so long. We celebrated the weekend with a trip to Nauvoo.  Grandma came out for the weekend to play with the kids (Emma, Jake, and Grandpa came too), and Bryce and I made the 3.5 hour drive to Nauvoo.

What a neat experience Nauvoo was.  The temple is beautiful, and we felt such a unifying spirit as we visited the sites and explored the town.  We left with such a great appreciation for the saints, their city, and faith.   We’ve already started planning our next trip…this time with the kids.

Going during the winter time, we had the city mostly to ourselves.

Loving Winter

This winter has been wonderful.  Last week we were in the high 40s and even reached 50 degrees!  A couple of days later we had some more snow.  Then the sun came out, and now it has all melted again.  It has been like this all winter and we have loved it!  The kids have been alternating between shorts and flip flops and their snow clothes.  We couldn't have asked for a better winter.
A couple of days later...building their first Iowa snowman.

The 12-Fingered Boy

Taylor came home from school today and with a grin asked how many fingers he had.  I never thought 10 would be the wrong answer. Time to get some new gloves.
